His refusal to shoot a bear garnered attention amongst the country’s masses, and a couple, Morris Mitchom and his wife Rose decided to create a toy and named it Teddy's Bear. That is how the stuffed toy came into existence and continues to be used as a symbol of love, forgiveness, and care to date.
